Born in 2003 at Cape Fear Community College, Portals publishes poetry, nonfiction, fiction, and art created by North Carolina college students. Submissions are open from November 15-March 31 and published annually in the fall semester.
1. Portals Magazine invites you to submit to our Whimsical April Nonfiction Contest. The topic is orchids. You may use this topic in anyway that fits your poem. It's time to celebrate all that is abundantly blooming in April!

5. Winning pieces will be featured in our current edition and published in our 2025 edition. Only winning authors will be contacted. However, all entries will be considered for general publication in Portals.
